Really high-pitched squeal while steaming milk

heya all, so i recently picked up an Appartamento and been learning how to froth. so far it's been okay, i think, i've been following one of Chris Baca's guide to frothing (having the steam wand around 9 o'clock at a point between the center and the side of the pitcher, pitcher slightly tilted inwards). something that i sometimes encounter now during my milk froth is this really high-pitched squeal that i can't seem to undo once it happens, it just gets louder and louder (it's like reeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEE)! i can reposition the pitcher in every way but i just can't get rid of the sound. i think someone once mentioned that it could be because my wand is too close to the sides, but i made sure that it wasn't. what causes this to happen?
thanks
thanks

That sound usually happens before air is introduced to the milk, especially on my slower steamer at work. I move the tip closer to the surface to get some air to start being sucked down into the milk and that squealing sound goes away.

It normally happens when you're too close to the walls of the pitcher or you've heated the milk way too much.

hm, i've concluded that it may be because i'm not introducing enough air (the kissing/sucking) at the start like MB has said. i've made sure that the wand is away from the walls of the pitcher and if i get this squeal, it normally happens from the start and just doesn't stop no matter how much i wiggle;\
from now on i'll make sure i get a few seconds of the kissing/sucking in before i dump the tip a little further in!
