E61 pressure release issue

When the brew lever is put in the lowest position on my Anita after brewing a shot there is a considerable lack of pressure exiting out the bottom of the grouphead leg. I have done chemical back flushes as well as plain water with minimal correction of the problem. I remember the days when there was rather large gush of water that came out of the bottom but now it is more of a dribble and the pressure remains as you remove the portafilter. (strangely this just sounds like a male aging problem) Any of the parts inside need replacing or is there some other solution?

Hi Alan,
I don't know if it's the same problem, but I had similar sounding symptoms and it turned out to be a worn exhaust cam pin. I got a lot of very helpful advice in this thread :
Quickmill Alexia: replace worn exhaust cam pin?
Good luck,
Phil

See this rather extensive, well written article:
HOW-TO 19 - Overhauling and Lubricating the E-61 Group available here:

While it is written with pics from the Vibiemme E-61 group, 99% of it can be applied to Anita. Chris' Coffee has all of the parts you might need and these guys offer the "bargain of all bargains" on service wrenches:
