Hi
I have a Bezzera BZ10. It has one of those ULKA pumps. It's okay - but I wish it could push a bit more volume. Would a pump upgrade be a good idea?

I don't believe that any of the Ulka pumps in the series are any more "powerful". Within the series, they all have the same specs for flow vs. pressure. I believe the difference in rated power consumption is related to differences in coil windings to achieve the greater duty cycles.

I may be wrong but I would think that any increase in pump pressure be blocked by the OPV (over pressure valve)?
If you are looking to push more water through the group you might be better off checking your brew pressure and adjusting the OPV rather than changing out the pump. I think the general consensus is for a brew pressure around the 9 bar mark for a pump machine.
