I was curious, how much do people dose in the Unifilter with very light roasts and 98mm unimodal burrs?

I have EK43S (stock burrs, Titus BC, aligned to 0.02mm) and Pesado 17-19g basket - I just opened a bag of Colombian Langora through KaffeBox (nordic roast).

I'm at a burr touch with 19g dose and it's still 60g out in 18s... it still tastes amazing and I'm not bothered by the time/looks but I have a feeling one day I'll get a bag I can't work with.

I'm currently using Tim Wendelboe filter roast with a P100 HU and a Flair 58, and I'm around 0.7 for a "regular" shot and 1.1 for a Turbo - so not yet at burr touch (0.0).
So either HU are not that unimodal or could be better aligned (factory aligned for now), or your coffee might be a bit old ? Have you tried other coffees?
If not I'm afraid I'll need to check my burrs alignment...

Some TW is not very developed, I was also near touch with stock EK burrs with some of those on hyper aligned grinder.

The problem is the burrs, to get more range you need other burrs on a Titus carrier

There no reason aligning new EK43 with a TC, these are good enough out of the box!

Great, I've been away from the forums for some time and all I'm hearing is I need to spend more money :D.

I've been updosing to 20g in Pesado and while it's not got any head room and shots are still very fast, I'm really enjoying the results.

Has anybody tried one of these? Makes a lot of sense to me. Less stuff to clean, more surface area for the puck. Only downside is it's pretty expensive.

As you noticed, it's about the money. For the consumers to fork over their money, the product has to look and sound "delicious", a.k.a. sales pitch. If cleaning is that much of hassle to someone, he / she can spend under $100 on ultrasonic cleaner and let it do the rest. 8)

I use one daily, for medium-light and light roasts. For darker roasts I prefer a VST basket.

As you surmise, it is less fuss to clean than a separate portafilter and basket combination. Also, I find the Weber unifilter so well-made that it is a pleasure to handle.
