WAFO baskets - Page 18
I pulled shots using the Wafo Spirit basket a few weeks ago.
For the most part, the yield was at least 22% (I checked without using a filter, even ratio 1:1.5) and the extraction was very stable, without any shaking.
However, sensually speaking with my SSP 64 mp v2, I have never thought that it was better than VST.
When I did a turbo shot, the taste was too strong, and even when I tried to increase the crema by using a 1:2 ratio, it was the same.
For those who have different types of burrs, what about conical burrs?
Would they improve the taste in a direction that gives a cleaner feeling?
I gave up on this burr and switched to a cast burr, or tomorrow, I'm planning to use the Comandante grinder and put two layers of paper filter under the puck to extract in the style of a "sprover". (This will make it come out like filter coffee.)
It's funny that I have to adjust the burr to the basket because the price is too expensive.

Can anyone confirm the dimensions for the WAFO and Sworksdesign baskets vs the Weber for those with ECM handles?maximatica wrote:For those thinking about the new basket types, I bought the Weber version and it did not fit the portafilter holder.
They now have a drawing that shows the dimensions, they did not have this when they launched the product and took orders.
So, on the WAFO and others, also check for this issue as it makes for a bummer to wait for 6 weeks or so only to have to sell the unit.

Thanks, this means it won't fit the Flair58 PF as it tapers down to 6cmmaximatica wrote:For those thinking about the new basket types, I bought the Weber version and it did not fit the portafilter holder.

Thanks. Unibasket as that is what the pic posted dimensions was for? I measured my ECM pf yesterday and it seemed it wouldn't fit and that text clearly confirm that it doesn't. Too bad, and good I didn't order one. Hopeful Wafo or Sworks will fit.CrabRangoon wrote:Not sure if your message is referring to the WAFO or Unibasket, but the Weber product page cites:
Well we could buy a bottomless with straighter walls but then the savings over the integrated solution would be very small.
I'll take a few measurements of my Sworksdesign basket later today, but I can tell you it doesn't fit my Breville PF, just like the Unibasket. It wasn't a problem for me as I have an aftermarket PF with straight walls and it easily fits.PIXIllate wrote:Can anyone confirm the dimensions for the WAFO and Sworksdesign baskets vs the Weber for those with ECM handles?
Website calls it a 18-20g basket. Holds about the same amount as my 20g VST.
Height of basket: 24mm
OD under lip: 60.75mm
OD at bottom: 60.15mm.

Here is a link to a thread I started a few weeks ago detailing what I had to do to make a Unibasket fit in my ECM.PIXIllate wrote:Can anyone confirm the dimensions for the WAFO and Sworksdesign baskets vs the Weber for those with ECM handles?

Old baristas never die. They just become over extracted.
