Hi all,

Just bought a used Rocket R58 v2 and been using for a few weeks now.

Something that wonders me is why the pump audibly activates at the middle position, the pressure gauge ramps up to 9 bars, but no water flows through. Then when I lift it slighty more the water is let through with full flow, not just "pre-infusion". Shouldn't it be silent at the middle stage with a light drizzle, lifting it slightly more the "pre-infusion" should start and then full on should be with active pump and full flow?

Can't really seem to get the "pre-infusion" state to work.

Just to clarify and not assume, is it plumbed in or tank operated?

The pump actuates when the cam on the lever depresses the switch behind it.

You can adjust how far out the switch protrudes and eliminate this if you want to.

Cheers!

#2 Tank operated:)
Is it as easy as turning the switch from the outside, or do I have to open up the machine?

The E61 I had was sandwiched between to slim nuts, so had to open the case to reach the inside one. Not sure on the Rocket.

This is how mine looks when the lever is at 45. I was going to say the same thing and point to the switch.

Just found that mine is such a microswitch, which only use a single slim nut. How would I approach this?

I just went for it, took off the sides of the machine and inserted an appropriate washer. Working lige a charm now :)
