Just curious, what dosing is everyone using? I find that too much over 18g makes the puck stick to the shower head after extraction. 17g seems to be too low in the basket. Might need to adjust grind further. Steaming power is adequate for me, I find im getting about 90 seconds of continual steam before the pump kicks on. Very satisfied so far with it.

I'm dosing 18g into the double basket using a Baratza Sette dialed in at around 4D (with one shim installed for expanded fineness range). The shots pull wonderfully.

I'm considering this machine as an upgrade to my PID (both for brew & steam) Silvia. I have a few questions after reading through this thread.

1 - Was the popping sound from the original video just a fluke that has now been resolved or can I expect this on a machine I buy?

2 - How is the performance when steaming & brewing at the same time. This is one of the reasons I want to get a DB. Another machine I'm looking at, the Lelit Diana, uses a vibe pump per function in order to help here.

3 - What is the recovery time for making let's say 3 lattes in a row? If I cool down my Silvia I can get it relatively stable for another shot after steaming by running water through the steam wand. If the recovery time is over 30 seconds I don't really see a reason I should buy this machine.

4 - Does a Rancilio portafilter fit in this machine? I have a Rancilio bottomless that I'd like to be able to re-use when I upgrade.

Thanks,
Alex

I've had my 300 for almost a year. It's been great for the most part. Steam seems a little weak but adequate for the 2 lattes I make a day. I've noticed recently that there's a sort of hissing/crackling sound when the machine is on AND after I turn it off. It goes away as it cools. It also seems to need more water than it used to. Other than that it functions fine. Shots taste good. Should I be concerned at all? It was purchased from WLL. Thanks in advance for any replies.

What does your steam pressure run at?

1.25 bar. Right in the middle of the green section.

Mine runs at 1.5 bar, right at the far end of the green. I bought mine from Clive not sure if they adjusted it or the manufacturer set it there. Anyway you could try bumping yours up if your steam is weak. I could easy steam two drinks without any issues.

Ah, good to know. There's a step by step on WLL. Looks pretty easy to do. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Been using this machine for a week now, love it. Profitec nailed it in this price range, as I didn't want an h/x nor a machine that should be ran plumbed in b/c its in an awkward corner of my kitchen. Just steamed some milk and pull shot same time no prob, steam is good, not as strong as an h/x or the larger dual boilers steaming (Lucca, Profitec 700 etc) but for what this thing cost for a true prosumer dual boiler, I've been impressed. Plus I like how simple and mechanical it is, just flipping the switches is such a solid, satisfying, sound. Has anyone changed the steam tip like to a single hole? I bought from Clive so it has the two hole tip.

Really the only thing I don't care for is the knobs to turn, but that goes for other machines, I'd rather those be switches like the on/off switch or joystick for steaming but can't complain at this price. Its crazy how fast this machine heats up.

Do you guys have an issue when the opv releases water, it doesn't seem to fully shoot into that hole insert in the tray. I keep getting puddles from under the machine. Realized it's b/c the water doesn't empty straight in the hole, but also between the machine and where the tray assembly slides in. I just checked it.so it'll leak from there down into the counter.

Is there a fix for this? I swear I read someone else mentioning this same issue either on here or somewhere else but can't find it now.
