This humble setup has brought us a long way after nearly a decade.

Decided to match the Faemina with the Urania for awhile, for a pair of '50s. Urania for the morning capps, and the Faemina for after lunch espresso. Looking at them has got me thinking about trying a robusta blend. Down to just two grinders now, the Lido 2 and a Tre Spade.

Thanks, it was a gamble and I was betting on the durability of the Mazzer over the "Parts ONLY" warning on the listing and evidence of serious abuse (hopper neck bent to the point of being folded over, I just machined that part off). Seems like I get good stuff for a good price, but I have to focus on it for a really long time and wait. Some people are simply good at things that pay more, but my system seems to work fine, and tests whether I'd really appreciate owning something or not. In this case, turns out I do! I think by the estimate of other people's numbers, I am close to having the burrs broken in at around 5 pounds. MAN, those other ones sure were dull! Friggin' rounded off and smooth to the touch.

Placing the winning bid on that grinder was one of the most exhilarating moments of my life.

Cheers from sunny Phuket! :)
Did you actually used to hang out with him in your time in Hungary? I think it's awesome and amazing that I have the ability to have a part sent that far around the world and specially rebuilt. The restoration and modification from scratch materials is one of my favorite things about this hobby. It's a big part of my life. I've never met Gabor, but I think he's awesome.
