Ha ha! We used to call that, "Phil's wiggle", back in the day. I usually only make one or two shots at a time. And when I'm done, I do that. Except, I don't do the second part "four of five times". I do it once or twice. Don't know what good it does, but it can't hurt. I went years, rarely doing it and my machine was still fine. Now I do it and my machine is still fine. As with RDT and WDT, I do it because it can't hurt, and probably helps.

I do Phil's whole routine since about a year ago when I started to develop a "hard" bounce at 9 bars from the OPV. Like it was getting "sticky". After a couple of sessions doing this, after my last espresso of the day or evening, it went away...coincidence... I think not. 8)
