300 mL is shown as dispensing example in the manual. I don't know if that is the upper limit.

I emailed the team at Unica Pro - they care aiming for safety certification Q1 2024 and shipping shortly after, 110v. Brian's video was very informative but I'd certainly love to get more details about the specifics and limitations. If 300ml is the max water distribution from the hot water or group head that is still a reasonable 10oz beverage. Plus with the very fast heating time it would seem that you could make a series of shots without limit. With the machine already released in some European countries hopefully someone with real-world use can chime in with more information.

JEPY: ""Pretty sure this is a linear piston pump set up, not a rotary'"

What would be the supremacy that a linear pump would have over the Rotary pump system....
Is there some additional advantage to use a linear pump in the Unica Pro.

One long linear stroke, like a piston in a lever machine, as opposed to a series of pulses with a rotary vane pump.

Being a positive-displacement system, it can dispense volume/flow very accurately and repeatedly.

Thanks Jeff & BaristaBoy...

I am looking forward to have the Unica Pro offered here soon. With all their operational and recipe programing options.
There will hopefully be more improvements before it arrives onshore.

My initial impression:
A fixed water connection and also their front loading 1.8 Liter stainless water tank
It would be terrific if others would consider this option also. Top loading-polypropylene tanks were never the been the best option.

Some of the Unica Pro offerings are:

Auto-flushing of the brew group or portafilter before and after each brew.
Auto milk steam temp and timing, offered to have a repeatable outcome when needed.

It seems the Unica Pro has tried to offer the same functionality and programming and options of a Swiss super-automatic has.
There is presently an option for 24 individual named recipes that can be programmed

The recipe options are being offered with volumetric control:
Of the Pre-infusion process: time, temperature, pressure/water volume.
Extraction: time, water volume/pressure, temperature

These recipes can be uploaded or downloaded through their USB port located behind the drip tray in front of
the machine to a stick or computer.

Options:
Temperature control of Steam boiler, Brew boiler, Brew group and cup warmer.
Auto flush before or after each brew.
Auto descaling: short or intensive.
Auto back flush cleaning offered.
History of previous 50 brew cycles can be viewed or downloaded.

'Exact' Volumetric Dosing
Simultaneous milk Frothing and coffee extraction.
Ultra Quick Heat-up Time
Programmable Hot Water Dispenser for tea/Americano
No copper or brass is used in the machine.
Cool Touch Steam Wand
Open software is offered to control unseen flow profiling capabilities

And all in a 11 inch wide compact format

Edit: Additionally- The Unica steam timer function allows you to foam/froth your preferred amount of milk in a repeatable way.

A couple of different images of the Unica Pro have surfaced.

interesting photos. Overall reasonable layout and packaging. I wonder how durable the "plastic" tubing is long-term? No idea, not a negative in any way but with the low thermal mass and avoidance of copper I imagine there aren't many other choices for tubing.

That's another choice.
I don't think plastic tubing is an option. The two alternatives I understand are being used are Teflon/PTFE tubing.
Actually, they are the same. it's just a name.
I'm still not sure if this tubing is the only substitute,
Just, not sure what is used in the Unica Pro.

I'm definitely interested to learn more about this machine. I'm also curious to how the "recipes" are created? Only on the machine or is there an app? I know you can use a USB but how are they created?

I would love to hear from someone in Switzerland or Germany who owns an Unica Pro. I'm a little surprised no one has chimed in.
