New la Marzocco GS3 MP with odd odor

Hello,
Just received my new LM GS3 been using it for several days.
I have noticed an odd odor, smells like maybe machine oil, coming from the machine.
I smell it most on the cup tray on top of the machine.
I opened the machine up and poked around and it seems like the smell may be originating in the heat blanket of the steam boiler.
The smell seems to be slowly going away.
Anyone else have a similar issue, with the GS3 or any other espresso maker
Thanks in advance....

Izzo had that problem with their insulation, or the glue they used on the overlap about 15 years ago now.
Place some clear glass upside down cups on the ventilation areas and see if you get a film inside.

Same on a mini. Would also be interested in a solution. Will try the test with the cup after we return from our travels
Kind regards,

I notice the smell on my new GS3 too when it is heating. The smell is kind of "heating plastic". But I understand this was the "signature" smell of a new machine and it went away several days later.
