It's not clear to me what is going on with the three pipes going to the group. I only see one pipe coming from thermoblock. At first, I thought it might be circulating water from and to the thermoblock (hence a closed loop).

Edit: I just opened the blog link. All set. The loop is up to the group valve.

Neat project! Common wisdom says you need high mass, metal things for temperature stability. But I tend to believe the opposite and a good closed loop system is all you need.
