They are also full of C02. Isn't it preferable to use N2O with the Twist? I can't imagine lots of extra carbon dioxide improving the taste of espresso.

It actually says in the manual 8g only... Which I'm bummed about. It will be mail order only for me because in my little berg of Cedar Rapids, IA no one sells food grade CO2 or N2O. Not a problem if I stay ahead of it! Bummer if travelling somewhere "small" by air, though.

I did manage to pull off 3 of 5 doubles with the machine that were tiger-striped beautiful crema photogenic and quite tasty shots. The other two were quite a bit better than passible. So there is no doubt that the Mypressi does deliver.

Hello,
I've also been the proud owner of a V2 Twist.
It has been my first espresso 'machine' capable of anything good while on the road (motorbiking). A pot to preheat the parts, slim hand grinder and the 'tea water' spout at gas station coffee 'bars' has been my source of decent espresso while putting the miles on.
I was thinking of machining a sleeved adapter to accommodate the slightly larger Crossman 12g CO2 cartridges..the diameter is slightly larger than the 8g ones and they 'will' fit into the handle of the Twist..just. But their length is the issue, hence the need for an adapter.
Along these lines is the thought rolling around my head that the even larger 'threaded' CO2 cartridges used in bicycle tire inflation kits, inflatable life jackets and such would be great..again needing an adapter.

I didn't know about oil in the CO2 cartridges from Crossman, etc. Hmm. Might make that adapter idea moot.
I don't know but can't imagine is any oil in the larger threaded style 16g cartridges for the other applications.

One thing I have learned is that both the TSA and the Canadian authorities allow a person to bring up to 4 cartridges into the cabin of an aircraft IF they have their own inflatable lifejacket. Since I fly to and from my motorbike locations, this is of real interest to me! NOTE: Most of the inflatable life jacket designs I've seen as well as the nice yellow ones used by the airlines themselves use threaded cartridges. If you do decide to carry cartridges with a life jacket onboard, do not attempt to attach non-threaded cartridges to the jacket! I'm not sure most security folks would catch that we need a non-threaded cartridge for the twist, but most jackets use the threaded style.
I've also found that the Twist seems to catch the attention of every Xray scanner out there! Get used to a bag search and an explanation! Most seem pretty interested in the idea and novelty of the espresso maker!

Mypressi, I know the Twist is already 'big', but any chance you could make a version for the very common, easy to source (pedal bike, motorbike stores) 16g threaded CO2 cartridge?

Anyhow, I'm really enjoying this device. It does blow the competition out of the cup!

Ahh, regarding the oil in the CO2 issue, a little bit of google searching showed a response from Crossman that there is NO oil added to the CO2; maybe a minute trace used in cartridge forming process. Of course, a current question to Crossman/Walther would again answer that question.

Food grade cartridges: as far as my fast search showed, the issue is not one of gas contents (gas quality and composition is exactly the same) but one of cartridge interior materials..glass coated insides in case of fluid flowback into cartridge instead of metal to fluid contact. Not exactly an issue for the Mypressi.

I may have solved my leaky seal problem but I am disappointed to hear the Mypressi is showing signs that may indicate they may not be in business.

I hope not.

Well,

Today I visited the Mypressi web site and it seems to be up and running, with a whole new structure...
