Over the years, I've observed that higher quality machines seem to have smoother finishes on their SS and are therefore easier to keep clean. Oscar's wand wiped clean more easily than Lelit's. The ECM wand is so smooth it comes clean with a few simple wipes even with the liner out, and the same was true of the LMLMs I've used at the Seattle cafe & the road show.ben8jam wrote:Comes off cleanly with a damp cloth.
I keep a white washcloth on the counter for the wand & wet it before wiping.

Yes, the temperature settings on the wheel do appear to accurately reflect brew temperature. I set brew temp at around 200 degrees for medium roasts and 203 degrees for lighter roasts. I've learned that any sour shots I pull are typically due to underextraction, not low brew temp. So, I usually don't adjust the temp wheel unless I'm changing to a bean with a different roast level.thirdshifter wrote:The temp at the brewhead is the temp you see on the manual wheel (in the middle of the wheel). It's supposedly quite accurate and stable. Sure it's a manual wheel but you can still tell within 1 degree what temp you're at, and you can adjust up or down, which is all you need. I thought I'd dislike the wheel but I've grown to love it.

Thanks guys. I'm getting really good shots what I believe to be 200 degrees, but this is my first machine and I haven't started experimenting with a wide variety of beans yet. I'm really enjoying the machine and the learning experience, but I never realized how scientific this can be.

Anybody using their linea mini in a commercial setting?say a small shop. Would love to see your setup and how many drinks an hour you can produce comfortably. thanks!

I used mine for a pop-up once, and was easily able to handle 20-25 drinks an hour, while steaming for cappuccinos. This was off of the reservoir tank, not plumbed in. "The Ice Kitchen Dan", and "NapoHBarista TV" on YouTube are using theirs in small shop settings.

Hi,
I noticed that the pump on my Linea Mini does not stop on time when filling the steam boiler or running water through the group, resulting in sucking in air.
The problem can be seen here:

Did someone else notice this issue with their machine or could maybe try to reproduce it, eg by letting water run through the group starting with an almost empty water reservoir?

Most Sette's have one shim installed..when ordered from Baratza. Was yours purchased directly from Baratza? If not, you may have NO shims installed.Duncan64 wrote:Thanks, yes beans are that fresh... I haven't done anything with shims so I'll take a look at that. I appreciate the suggestion.
Just Google the YouTube Video on how to install the shims...it's easy peezy, 10 minutes total.
I'd also recommend cleaning the grinder thoroughly after you've gone through maybe 3-4 #s of beans. You'll not have to do it again for another 10-15#s probably, unless you're grinding oily beans.

Just got my LMLM in this weekend. Have had fun tinkering with it and dialing in shots. Have also installed the 0.6mm gicleur and much prefer the reduced water debit. That said, I've read a handful of times here that the machine should be at 12 bars when idle. Mine idles between 9-10. When I brew, it drops down to 3 and then stays up at 9. But it doesn't go much higher when idle. How do I adjust this? My assumption is the expansion valve behind the drip tray, but turning it both ways didn't do much. I noticed a drop in idle pressure, but when I tried to increase and get it to where I couldn't turn it anymore, it stays at 9 bar. I have not messed with the brew pressure setting inside the panel near the rear. Any advice appreciated.

Curious to know what is the length (depth) between the front and back feet/legs? Thanks.keno wrote: The width is 14" at the top (widest point). The bottom is narrower - the frame is 11.5" wide and the drip tray sticks out a little past the frame and is 12.75" wide. The overall narrowness of the machine is one of the things I like about it - does not take up a lot of counter space. But keep in mind that it is 21" deep, which is deeper than a lot of other machines in this class.

I'm curious to know what is the distance between only the feet/legs depth wise? I have no problem with the width but if I decide to upgrade to the Linea Mini I'm hoping it would fit on a specific custom table that I'm currently using as a coffee bar. Thanks!keno wrote: The width is 14" at the top (widest point). The bottom is narrower - the frame is 11.5" wide and the drip tray sticks out a little past the frame and is 12.75" wide.
