La Marzocco Linea Micra - Page 99
I think the blue could really work with any wood finish depending on the design of the space it is going in! Let's see!AGramata wrote:The RB Crafts trim looks the best out of all of the ones I've seen for the Micra. Thanks for posting these pics. Now I just need to decide what type of wood would look best with a blue Micra![]()
Are you using different portafilter than the convertible one that came with the Micra?
I'm using the wooden handle on a standard LM bottomless portafilter. I occasionally use the convertible one, but this is my primary setup. Some people have said they don't like the downward angle of the non-convertible with the Micra, but with the slimmer wooden handle it is fine for me.

[SOLVED - will reply with update as an fyi]
My switch issue remains unresolved, and I'm still going back and forth with LM. After removing the panel and wiggling the wires, it hasn't been acting up as much for the last several days. But, I don't consider this a reliable resolution as there was nothing visibly out of place and nothing I did would constitute a repair of any kind.
I don't know if this provides any insight, but here is a video of wiggling some of the plastic connection housings. Some move around more than others. Just this morning I got a dead switch where I flipped it on and nothing happened.

The wires on the thermostats only go to the heating element, so they are unrelated to your brew switch issue.iploya wrote: I don't know if this provides any insight, but here is a video of wiggling some of the plastic connection housings. Some move around more than others.

When your machine is powered off, do you get a positive clicking noise from the switch?
The switch on my review unit reliably makes an audible click between these two positions:
Here are images of the limit switch itself between the two positions above:

Thanks for the reply. (EDIT - see below for clarified answer. I misunderstood the first time.)Jake_G wrote:The wires on the thermostats only go to the heating element, so they are unrelated to your brew switch issue. I think the question is whether the switch clicks if you flip the paddle while the main power switch is off.

Oh, interesting -- no, I don't believe it does. It's just a smooth back and forth when power is off. There's no "mechanical" clicking sound from the physical motion of the switch. [EDIT - yes it does]

...Wait, yes, it does click. It's just a quieter click.iploya wrote:Oh, interesting -- no, I don't believe it does. It's just a smooth back and forth when power is off. There's no "mechanical" clicking sound from the physical motion of the switch.

See if you can tune your ears to that click and validate whether or not it occurs when the machine fails to start a shot.
The switch is tricky to get to, but easy enough to source. I have a whole slew of suitable replacement switches in my "nerd box", as my wife call it
The challenge is getting to it:
It is secured to the group mounting bracket and cant really be accessed without removing the paddle surround and the front panel

Thanks very much, Jake. Definitely sounds like a job for the LM service team! But it's good to know what's involved if that is the issue.
EDIT: I got back in touch with LM - they will back-order a switch for me, and once it arrives they will arrange service. I'll post back later once the work is done, in case it may help add to the knowledge/troubleshooting base. I bet the tech will be able to identify in person whether it is the switch, per se, or indirectly related like to the switch connections or something. Fortunately I am able to pull shots in the meantime.
Thanks,
Alan
