I appreciate that. I use Reddit for other things but have always stayed away from the coffee & espresso subs, as I strongly prefer time spent on HBtdwolf wrote: I have not seen yellow on this thread but I have over on Reddit r/espresso. It looks great. I didn't link to the post as I don't know the rules for this forum but here is the photo of the yellow. It is not mine.

Is diffuser removal part of anyone's regular/semi-regular cleaning routine? Do I need to order one of these tools so I can remove it, or is there no reason to remove it unless something's wrong?

I thought maintaining healthy regular backflush & detergent regimen would be adequate without a need to remove the shower head. I suppose time will tell and we'll know more at 6-12m down the line of owners usage.

The shower screen comes off easily with a screw, and it's my understanding that it should be removed and cleaned periodically. What I'm not sure about is whether removal of the diffuser (the plastic part in the photo under the shower screen) is necessary as part of a periodic cleaning routine.
I'm not sure what it is, exactly. It's definitely not metal. Probably some sort of polymer but it feels pretty much the same as my honed quartz countertop the machine rests on, hard and smooth but not shiny.Essewissa wrote:can anyone confirm that the diffuser is made of plastic?
My white Micra arrived today (ordered Dec. 13). First impression is that it's the perfect size for this space.
In an effort to reduce the amount of counter clutter, all the other "stuff" is in the drawer right under the Micra.
Looking forward to pulling some shots of Blue Bottle Hayes Valley as a first go with the new machine.

For those still waiting and wondering about order times....My blue Micra arrived today. So almost 7 weeks to the day. At the time of order the estimate was 6-8 weeks.
No problems so far, other than the fact that the dual spout adaptor was not in the box of accessories. The single spout was included, though. I prefer a bottomless PF, so this isn't a big deal for me. I've emailed LM about it to see if was just an oversight on their part.
I did get a water test kit which some people are saying they did NOT receive.
Also, no weird smells or anything as the earlier buyers were reporting. It seems they've addressed that issue in the build process. I filled up the reservoir, went thru the setup and connected the app, and was making flat whites in no time. I did knock the steam setting down to 1 though, to give me a few extra seconds to get used to the steam power and the shorter steam wand. My 15oz WPM pitcher is a little too tall to work with the shorter steam wand for the amount of milk I use, but the supplied LM pitcher worked great as it's a little smaller.
