La Marzocco Linea Micra - Page 116
Thank you for being guinea pigs! 1.16 -> 1.17 does sound like a minor increment in terms of SW revisions numbers. But it sure would be nice if LM released a change log...

FYI, both the app and the machine need to be connected to the Internet for the update to work. (I usually do not have the machine connected to the Internet.)

Same. I definitely get more blueberry in my Harrar now.ira wrote:The one I have is going from 1.11 to 1.17, wonder what will change?

Via La Marzocco support:
The new fw is mainly for installing the plumb-in kit, which will be available on the La Marzocco Home to purchase soon.
Less, but better.
Before the update, with plumb-in enabled and plumbing in, I had to jumper the water-level sensor or else the machine would shut down (same as if running on the tank). With this update, the machine runs without the jumper and the blue light is solid, but the app continually warns that the machine is out of water. So they're getting closer. I suppose they just need to update the app to fix that.jordanborth wrote:Via La Marzocco support:
Hello,
If I can't plumb-in the Micra at home, will I be SOL for lighter roast espressos because I can't pre-infuse?
Thank you for your time.

You're going to have to be a bit more specific as to "lighter roast espressos."soojineee wrote:If I can't plumb-in the Micra at home, will I be SOL for lighter roast espressos because I can't pre-infuse?
For example, I'd say that the Micra is just fine for something like a Tim Wendelboe espresso roast in a VST basket with no pre-infusion, no pre-wetting, or no change in pressure - although I would raise the brew temperature, but that is a personal preference. (Yes, ideally, the pressure would be dropped a bar or so instead of raising brew temperature, but you still won't 'need' pre-infusion.)
OTOH, if you want to pull ultra-light filter roasts that need weeks of rest just to be drinkable (even as pourover), then you may want to consider a machine that offers some form of flow/pressure control, etc.
