La Marzocco Linea Micra - Page 104
I was just about to say there is a Synesso MVP for sale locally and from the Micra to that would be like my move from S2000 to M850i (though I kept the S).meshkaffe wrote:Hopefully going from pro300 to micra would be like my move from gsr to e46 m3.

Okay, now we can be done.
Haha, I'm stupid because I could have gotten a gt3 with what I have in the m3 so far, or a couple more M3s
Would a leva x be considered a gt3? A manual gt3 of course.
Sorry, back on micra talk!

I have a Micra on order but I am concerned with quality control. I've noticed several owners on the Facebook La Mazorcco group with significant issues with their new Micras.
Anyone want to comment?

Haha, yeah I was sort of grasping with that analogy. Just saying that I get by with this steam wand but I still bump into the pitcher. I bet they probably put a lot of effort into the design to fit the space constraint, yet I still suspect the wand could be improved in terms of clearance.baldheadracing wrote:The Civic Type R has more headspace than an Accord. People have posted various anecdotal issues throughout the various forum threads. For example, in early production runs some folks had a paint/plastic smell that faded (that seems to have been resolved), a few folks have had underpolished finish issues on chassis parts, and I have an odd, intermittent switch issue that I posted about that has an in-home warranty service ticket.Ldstern wrote: I have a Micra on order but I am concerned with quality control. However, from what I see LM stands behind the product and I don't think the vast majority of folks have issues. If I had to venture a guess, the demand for a new model like this was really high and so there's naturally going to be the challenge of working out a few kinks and also keeping up production to satisfy that demand, especially at first.
Hello all,
I am still new to the Espresso machine world, so I am learning a lot every day about all.
About tamping, I usually gently hit the tamper to the countertop and then tamp. I notice the bottomless portafilter from Linea Micra has a different shape than other bottomless portafilters I see. The bottom part is partially round shape (I am not sure how to describe it?), and I found it hard to keep the flat level when I gently hit the tamper to the mat because the bottom part makes a bit wobbly when I hit? It could be my skill since I am very beginning, but curious about other people's thought?

How do you mean? Is it loose or is it like just easier to move than it should be to you?baldheadracing wrote:The Civic Type R has more headspace than an Accord. No sunroof and the seats were lowered - done for helmet clearance and a lower centre of gravity.
To stay on topic, I'm not thrilled with the Micra's steam arm length and the lack of stiffness of the wand's ball joint. However, my Club has an even shorter arm, and yes, one adapts.

Easier to move. Most of my machines have fixed steam wands so I've become used to lightly pushing the pitcher against the wand. The machines that I do have that use wands on ball joints use commercial valves and the tension is somewhat adjustable. The Micra looks like it has a similar setup - that #10 in the diagram below can be adjusted tighter, or the spring in between #10 and the arm (#11) can be stretched a bit to increase tension:
However, I'm not yet at the stage of wanting to take the machine apart to get at the valve, and I have a review unit so I'm not about to stretch a spring. I'll eventually get to seeing if tightening #10 does anything, especially as I want to see #8 in action - I've never seen an anti-vac valve at the steam wand on a machine.
