Does this recommendation vary in any predictable way based on roast level (e.g., less time for darker roast)? And in general, what is the benefit of a longer vs shorter pre brew off time?Jake_G wrote: Recommended times for setting up prebrewing is as follows:
Pre brewing on: 2s
Pre brewing off: 8s
Feel free to adjust from there. If you hear a whoosh and see water enter the drain tray when pre brewing off begins, your pre brewing on time is too long.
Ya'll, am I crazy or does the right side of the machine sit slightly lower than the left?

*Probably*.anaganomada wrote:Does this recommendation vary in any predictable way based on roast level (e.g., less time for darker roast)? And in general, what is the benefit of a longer vs shorter pre brew off time?
But the only predictable thing is that beans that taste better without preinfusion will taste better if you don't use it.

Sadly the best thing is to try with ans without and see if you have a preference. I wish there were better advice.

Scared the living hell out of me and my wife too!! It happened at around 11:00PM and it sounded like a husky in heat! Glad to hear we're not the only ones hearing this--very creepy indeed.brianja wrote:Absolutely. It happens every time about an hour after it turns off. Scared the heck out of my wife the first time!
A few people on the micra Facebook group have also noted this. One even caught it on video.
I get the impression that a few have reached out to LM Home about it and they said it is "normal", but it sure is odd.
Maybe check that the drip tray is installed level, or level it by adjusting the feet.exidrion wrote:Ya'll, am I crazy or does the right side of the machine sit slightly lower than the left?
I bought the Weber basket, but it doesn't fit in the Micra portafilter. If you put it in (you need use the Weber spring) you won't be able to fit the plastic spout underneath. I also didn't think that the coffee was much better, so I sent it back and got a full refund.
If my tracking info is accurate (Tazmanian Freight?), I'll be the proud owner of a LMLu tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'll be out of town, so my delightful wife will be there to accept it into our home. It'll be replacing a much loved and much modded Rancilio Silvia that we've had (and used) for the last18 years. It's been amazing; even better with PID, V3 steam wand, etc..., but I'm finally succumbing to the upgrade fever. Glad there's a community like this to guide me through the comings and goings and such.

Hi - first post and ordered a Micra yesterday. Can hardly wait. Long time lurker.
I have to lead with a silly question - my GoogleFu failed me - why is this machine abbreviated LMLu?
