I ordered a white one.m_b_b wrote:What color? I wonder if that makes a difference. Surprised to see the blue one noted above took 9 weeks and my red ordered later only took 5. I feel like I've seen stainless, black, white and red more than the others, wonder if they just planned to build more of those.
Coincidentally, I did get a reply from LM USA yesterday informing me that my machine should be shipping from Italy tomorrow so I should have it in a couple of weeks. This would normally be received as good news were it not for the fact that two weeks ago they had informed me that they had already received my machine and it just needed to go through their QA process.

My takeaway is that they've overwhelmed with orders and are struggling a bit with order fulfillment at the moment. These are definitely first-world problems. Annoying but not really important, so I'll just continue to sit here somewhat patiently and eagerly await my Micra.

It will be most power-efficient to shut the machine off as soon as you've cleaned up after your morning session, and to turn the machine back on for afternoon coffees.JohnPK wrote:I think I've read through most of this thread but I apologize if this has been covered and I missed it.
Has anyone data logged the power consumption of the Micra during the initial heat up and in steady-state after it has heated up? Our typical home routine is that we'll make some drinks (3-5) in the morning and then some more in the early afternoon. I wonder if it's more efficient to leave the machine heated from, let say, 6AM - 4PM, rather than putting it into standby after the morning drinks and then having to re-heat it in the afternoon?

It just arrived, took about 4 weeks total time. See link La Marzocco Linea Micra owner reviewsYoshiKenji wrote:For those who ordered mid/early December, any updates on the status?
I don't think I've seen any blue ones. Might have missed it.m_b_b wrote:What color? I wonder if that makes a difference. I've logged mine.JohnPK wrote:I think I've read through most of this thread but I apologize if this has been covered and I missed it.

It draws 1460W consistently while heating up, for a total of about 100Wh of power use to get to solid red light "ready to go".
Then it uses about 20Wh per 5 minutes of just keeping it warm. It does this by alternating between drawing 1.2W and 300W every few seconds, with an occasional spike to 1200W.
So the break even point is about 25 minutes, beyond that you'd use less power to just heat it up from cold than leaving it idle. Of course that's not thinking about any potential wear and tear from repeated heating and cooling, not sure how to factor that in.
In standby it only draws 1.2W.
That's perfect - thank you! I'm surprised the break-even point is only 25 minutes, but that really helps in determining how to program the machine. Since I don't have mine yet, can you confirm one more thing for me? It's my understanding that you can only program one start and stop time daily, so if I wanted it to come on automatically and be ready to go for both morning and afternoon uses, I'd need to run it off a smart plug that allows multiple on/off programs throughout the day?
The break-even on all espresso machines is zero seconds. (It's not going to take 5 minutes to come back to temperature if it is off for 1 minute. It takes 5 minutes if it's been off long enough to reach room temperature.)
There is only one start/stop time per day.
There is only one start/stop time per day.
Correct. The LM app allows for one on/off time per day only.JohnPK wrote:It's my understanding that you can only program one start and stop time daily, so if I wanted it to come on automatically and be ready to go for both morning and afternoon uses, I'd need to run it off a smart plug that allows multiple on/off programs throughout the day?
