When I pull a 18 g. shot in double basket it reads 12-14. Upon completion of a 1.5-2.oz shot, it jumps down to and remains around 10. What does this indicate the brew pressure is (if at all)? By the way I just pulled an awesome shot of Black Cat!
Thanks to HB reader reviews.

PS. Just hope my wife dosen't get wind of how much a pound it is ! No cigars this weekend.

The only interesting reading is during the extraction, i.e., 12-14 bar in your case. The idle reading is boiler pressure caused by thermal expansion. Most baristas prefer brew pressure in the 8 to 10 bar range; you can adjust it via the over-pressure valve (OPV).
