I had some problems on the 120V circuit that the machine is on and when an electrician was working on that circuit I forgot to unplug the machine so I'm worried the cpu board on my Expobar Office Lever Plus might have been affected. On a cold start the first thing that I usually see happen is that the HX boiler turns on (red light indicator). Instead it tries to run the pump even though the lever is down. Maybe microswitch failure?

I would say boiler fill solenoid. If the water is low the first thing a machine will do it call for water to fill the boiler. If the water is low and the heater kicks on, it will kill the heating element. Does it kick on then turn off, does it pump water out the group, if it it does both of those you can take a volt meter to the heating element and see if it is getting power and your element is burnt out. Those bulbs do burn out now and then as well.

Good ideas Dave. I'll do some investigating and let you know.
