I'm about to change out my Ma-Ter pressurestat for a C.E.M.E. one. Is it as simple as screwing in the new one and connecting the same wires to it that were connected to the old one?

Have you ever done electrical work on an older Jaguar or Triumph?

Well it's not nearly that bad.

OK, its probably a dumb question, but how will the change affect/ improve the Bricoletta? I also have one and its also my first high end machine. Thanks.

I presume Steve is replacing a non-functional pressurestat, not "upgrading" per se. Occasionally one read claims of improvements related to a tighter deadband (the difference between the heating element's on/off points); I'm deeply skeptical, doubly-so for smaller HX machines whose temperatures swing from the mountains to the valley during a 20 second flush.

Actually, I'm just experimenting. The Ma-Ter works fine, but I figure the only way to learn about how these things work is to experiment with them. So to asnwer the original question, I don't really expect any improvement - I was just curious as to what difference it might make.

I got the CEME installed just fine, but it hasn't been in there long enough for me to really come to any reasonable conclusions. I'm still messing with the deadband adjustment, etc., just trying to get a feel for the ramifications of various changes.
