Wet puck at 18 grams and at 20 grams... Bought it used and it works fantastic.... Backflushed it when I got it going..

Does it need backflushing or solenoid? How can you tell?

Thanks

If foamy discharge was coming out of the pipe into the tray, then the solenoid is working correctly. No need for further backwashing or new solenoid valve in that case.

How is the coffee tasting? What is the roast level of the bean you are using?

A wet puck is not diagnostic of anything at all in your Gaggia.
Don't worry about it.

I found that 20.5g in a standard Classic double basket gave me better coffee and firm dry pucks.
The dime test never worked out well for me with that machine.
I also had a 4 hole SS screen holder and less than 20.5g would give me 4 big soft divots in the puck.
YMMV
