The only thing that keeps me from ordering a puristika is the lack of a hot water tap. Everything else about it is nearly perfect in my opinion. What do you all do if you want to do an Americano... heat up a kettle?

With our Puristika I make 2 Americanos for my partner (and 2 straight up espresso for myself) every morning. We have an inexpensive Bodum electric kettle for hot water. Works a treat.

You make your espresso, remove the portafilter and pour hot water from the group to the cup. Use a puck screen or a paper filter to keep the shower clean so you don't need to wipe it.

The Puristika has finally hit my radar. I dd not realize there was a machine available that just did espresso. I'm starting to do some research for a second espresso machine at another location. I had been looking at the CT2, but the Puristika may serve my needs better with its ability to easily adjust temperature, and change from 6 to 9 bar.

Are there any owners that have had the Puristika for a long enough period to reflect and reference how they like this machine?

How long can you pre-infuse on the Puristika without the pressure profiling kit. I've read that to get true pre-infusion you need to add the pressure profile kit. Do you lose any capabilities if you add the pressure profile kit?

In my machine, the minimum is 7 bars (it was 8 in the beginning, but somehow moved to 7). I love turbo-shots, so I bring it to 6 with the Flow Control Device paddle.

Like in any E61 machine, you can do blooming (which is much better than the normal pre-infusion):

Blooming profile on E61 machines with no flow control device

Do you have pictures of the installation? Is it easy to install?

I don't have pictures of everything, it's not very easy to do without tools or know-how. It included routing a new (or the stock) OPV through the double front panel (structural thicker frame + cosmetic front panel plate) to bleed into the drip tray, and of course routing water from pump through the back panel + routing electrical wires to the pump. It might be possible to do for handy people, all parts are off the shelf standard ones.
