Never have I appreciated my Maver as much as when I stupidly clicked through to this

Cheers,Yesterday, Nespresso and DeLonghi unveiled the next generation of espresso meets cappuccino and latte machines - the Nespresso Lattissima. The Nespresso Lattissima features a "one touch" fresh milk froth function, allowing you to make a latte or cappuccino with just one push of a button. We witnessed the Nespresso Lattissima in person and got to sample the cappuccino and latte drinks it produced - verdict - amazing.

Shouldn't this be posted in that "craziest )#%&_(*&)#% thing" thread Or maybe laziest who gives a rip about quality in the cup thread...

Oh Good God that looked awful, and to think one of the people in the video was gaga over the result. It now seems so worth it to spend all my savings on a proper machine and grinder and practice.

Maybe it should be cross-referenced in the "Nastiest *$&%*#@ thing thread, too.Compass Coffee wrote:Shouldn't this be posted in that "craziest )#%&_(*&)#% thing" thread Or maybe laziest who gives a rip about quality in the cup thread...
What will they think of next?

There is no end to examples of how not to make coffee, but this website ranks right up there. Would you drink this: http://www.singleservecoffee.com/images/IMG_4145.jpgluca wrote:Never have I appreciated my Maver as much as when I stupidly clicked through to this
And some of the text on that page. For example: "Because the Nespresso Lattissima uses fresh milk the difference in the quality of the latte or cappuccino is staggering." What were they using before? CREMORA!?
But at least the photography on that page is generally poor.
On a serious note, at the SCAA show I make it a point to stop and watch the many advertising videos playing on screens in various booths. I can't remember seeing any that made me think I would want to taste the coffee. As a rule, the flows all start light in color and lack viscosity, many looking like water nearly right from the start. The Dutch brothers was a good example (I think I remember seeing it in '05). They had a booth that was huge, and the transport of it to the show alone must have cost quite a bit. The pour video looked worse than the ones I toss down the sink without tasting.
I will not rest until the last bad cup of coffee has been slain. They can have my portafilter when they pry the handle from my dead, cold hand. I HAVE NOT YET BEGUN TO PULL! Give me crema, or give me death!
Med time....

Repulsive looking beverage, but I suggest you look on the bright side: since the espresso extraction lasted only 15 sec, you didn't have to listen to the vibe pump for 30!luca wrote:Never have I appreciated my Maver as much as when I stupidly clicked through to this

And the sound was so clear. The "milk frothing" was clearly a studio recording of a cat with a furball.Ken Fox wrote:Well, at least the photography was good!
*Can* such a machine be good? La Cimbali makes them, so I wonder.

If that is true, I'd be surprised. Perhaps they have allowed their name to be used on it, but I can't believe that they would make something like that. Are you telling me it isn't made in China?

If it's ever up for the 2007 Best espresso machine orgasm, it has my vote.
