annually or wait for something to break?
Bi annually at the very least. I have decided to replace all the o-rings annually in mine as I found a couple leaks last month by visual inspection before I could hear them. As *sigh* stated, it doesn't take long and the o-rings are cheap.

I agree with the others on preventative replacement of the 007 o-rings. I did it the hard way...one by one as they leaked. After replacing a standard silicone o-ring for a second time, years ago, I moved to AFLAS o-rings. All (around 15 of them) my 007 o-rings are AFLAS and not one has failed, some are as old as 5 years. They are not as easy to compress and get to seat. I found that using a small amount of food grade grease works well to get them in place. IMO, well worth the up front effort to "never" replace them again!

* "never" is a strong statement, but time will tell.

I have had a similar experience with AFLAS o rings in my BDB.

Recently replaced the pump on my Breville and the hot water dispenser intermittently spits/sprays when dispensing water. Anyone know what might be going on? Thanks!

Seems like Breville updated some points of failure..
Hopefully no need for o ring replacements now.

Wow. That's what I'm talking about. When did you buy this one? Any clue what the production date is? These machines have been out of stock on Breville's USA site for a while now. I wonder if all new machines will have this revision!

Can they make those things any more flimsy? Thing looks like they have joined forces with Fisher-Price. Looks as if the rear housing has bowed simply by lifting the lid.

I'm interested in the production date like Chris.

I think it's on a sticker on the housing that holds the water tank. I believe mine said 1525...meaning 2015, week 25.
