This is my first consumer machine. I bought it for a second home. It is by far the most difficult to dial in of any machine I have ever used. I just thought you should hear that from someone since everyone on here is measuring and testing and whatever and just know it's not an easy or intuitive machine to use.

I am not sure why it is rated so highly except that it is mass marketed through many channels and is relatively inexpensive. It also seem solidly built and Breville does make attractive home appliances.

I finally have a completely unintuitive way of getting a decent shot. BTW, measure the water from the auto single and double shot. It is not accurate and many of you are struggling with shot timing because you are being short shotted.

Good luck. Really wish I had just bought a Gaggia Classic. Lol
