Tonx has a new venture hitting Kickstarter in a couple days,

I'm excited and I haven't been this excited about a coffee launch in a while.

Disclaimer: I have no financial interest in this venture or Tonx. I did subscribe to Tonx coffee back in the day.

Can you fill us in on a few more details?

No, that's the point. It's supposed to create mystery and intrigue, like when people used to care about buying an iPhone .... Though the days of anyone having an attention span longer then 2 minutes are gone, so he'll just need to repost the link again when it's live :)

I hope this is just bringing something like Tonx back. I feel like when Blue Bottle bought them, that initially it was a good match, they pretty much just ran Tonx out of Blue Bottle. But then over time it just became any other random subscription service where they send you a random bag of coffee every few weeks.

I'm down for a box...

Soooo I'm not trying to be unsupportive, but it's just a bag of random blended coffee for $15? Or am I missing something here?

Two points here.

1. The $15 initial price includes shipping, which compares with the $17 charged by Blue Bottle with shipping. (After the $1 Locol coffee, I also expected a lower price. But this is to get them started, and they say the price will come down if they get enough support.)

2. Tony and Sumi never "randomly" blended anything. They are judicious buyers, roasters and cuppers. For those who want the information, the specific farms are at the bottom of the bag label (at least on the one on the Kickstarter page). Part of their strategy to keep the Locol prices down and quality up was to buy smart and good. They seem to be working on a higher quality level here, but I expect the strategy is the same.
