Hi there guys.

It's been a while since new beans WOWed me.

Currently, I am brewing Tropical Weather by Onyx Coffee Labs - which is probably my favorite blend of all time for espresso.

I am starting this discussion with the hope to learn more about other coffees that impress other people.

Share along.

At those prices, it better be good!

Looks like an interesting taste profile. What recipe are you using?

This came with my new Monolith Max:

The blueberry is intense and incredibly tasty. Fantastic espresso.

Cimarron Courthouse - I had great success with a 1/2 lb so just got a kg. I freeze it at 7-8 days after roast. I find it exceedingly forgiving, very flavorful - just plain an easy great cupa. There is a thread here on it that Ian started.

I have 3 day Prana (NB) aging but haven't tried it yet.

Whatever you get, make sure it's fresh. I have thrown out way too many beans trying to make them work.(super market beans and the like. Even WholeFoods beans tend to be old unless you get lucky.)
Life is too short for bad espresso! - Thunk-ed, NOT stirred!

My two favorites this year, both available. Klatch's Guji Anaerobic and Gaslight's William Mora Chirascuasa.

What ratio and temp are you pulling at? I've been pulling a 2:1 and it is sweet and tasty but I'm still getting some roast/bitter flavors. I just got a Max with SSW.

Memli Coffee is rarely mentioned. It is very good coffee - I would put it on par with Passenger, Sey, Vibrant etc. It is well priced, compared to its peers, with many of its coffees priced from $17 to mid 20s for 300grams. https://www.memlicoffee.com/shop

Halo Beriti is very good. I just got the Banko Gotiti natural Ethiopian. It is a good natural.

A small, local roaster offers a natural Ethiopia Sidama - some bags are really strawberry forward and I love it... and then, with the next bag, the berry is totally absent. So hit or miss for me that it makes me wonder if there's a really short window for that intense fruit flavor (<1 wk?), which I know is present at 3 days off of roast (the roaster is a one-man band and doesn't scribble roasting dates on bags).

Oh, currently pulling some Bali Kintamani Highlands from UP Roasters in my neck of the woods - https://upcoffeeroasters.com/product/bali/

Really nice and right up my alley with the berry-forward notes and floral backing.
