My wife on a well-brewed cup of a sun-dried Ethiopian Yirgacheffe: "This tastes like berries. Gross!"

My wife on a well-brewed cup of Geisha: "This tastes like flowers. Gross!"

For her, if the overall taste isn't dominated by chocolate & nuts, the coffee is "gross." It is just that simple! The irony is that I have trained her to be very picky about coffee freshness and brew technique. She appreciates the quality that she gets at home or when we travel together. But if coffee flavors stray too far from what she views as appropriate, she is just not having it.

Nick, for real.

Mike, I don't really try to sell it, so to speak, but I'll gladly provide info. if asked. I look to immediate family (captive audience!) for confirmation on certain things, like "what does this smell like to you?" "Disgusting" isn't very helpful in that regard. Anyway, right, their tolerance at least is appreciated. Too funny re: the bean chewing!

Mark, that sounds familiar.
