Which coffee origin is your least favorite?
Mine is Peruvian not sure why but it just has a taste I can't appreciate.
You?
Thanks

I may get put on double secret probation but Ethiopian, especially naturals. I actually like the smell and taste somewhat but it gives me a stomach ache every single time. Ugh.

+1 - Don't like Ethiopian
DO like SO El Salvadorian for its rich chocolaty flavours.

There's no origin I haven't had an awesome coffee from, but *overall* I've learned to avoid single-origin Brazils for batch brew. That's my only firm dispreference.

El salvador might have good beans but they make a terrible cup.BaristaBoy E61 wrote:+1 - Don't like Ethiopian

I was quite disappointed as it all tasted like instant.
At one market I asked for a cup and the guy preceded to scoop it out of a giant pot with a soup ladle which still had grinds floating around.
Price was good only $0.25 lol

Seems like a weird premise - surely the growing conditions, processing, varietals, etc. all make a more significant difference than the country of origin, do they not? Let alone the handling of the green, roasting, brew method....slipchuck wrote:Which coffee origin is your least favorite?

You could be right but I tried a few Peruvian cups from several places not connected to each other and come up with the same conclusions

A few?
It's human nature to take insufficient information and generalize it. But hopefully that tendency doesn't prevent you from trying at least a few more.
I had similar reservations based on a limited number of bags of Peruvian beans I have tried. But I bought another one recently and was blown away by it. When I went back for another bag and there weren't any I was crestfallen.

I think the stereotypes of different growing regions have likely been generally accurate in the past, but I wonder if as more farmers see the demand for quality if many of those generalizations will no longer hold true.slipchuck wrote:You could be right but I tried a few Peruvian cups from several places not connected to each other and come up with the same conclusions
