Unbelievable?! Somehow three years have slipped by since the last Favorite Espressos Review. We'd like to update it, but with community participation. In the first go-around, we'll look at "medium roast/comfort" espresso blends. Please pick from your favorites!

Rather than the writeups being limited to Team HB, we'll invite anyone who wants to participate to join in. The logistics will be announced soon, but the idea is that those who'd like to participate can pay a flat fee for shipping and three blinded coffee samples. The site will also sponsor two participants by community vote similar to the Home Barista MVP Celebration voting mechanism.

Voting will end next weekend. :D

Note 1: Unlike normal posts in the forums, the voting result will not be shown above.

Note 2: To vote for the sponsored community participants, refer to the instructions below:
MVP instructions wrote:Keep in mind that the nominee must have an established site history, same as the Buy/Sell qualifications. The order in which you pick your nominees doesn't matter--a vote is a vote. However, if you've selected five nominees and you later select a sixth, the "oldest" one will be removed from your list (e.g., assume you selected A, B, C, D, and E over the course of the day. Then the next evening, you select F. Then your nominees would be F, E, D, C, and B; the first nominee you selected, A, would no longer be in your list).

Note: You cannot vote for yourself. To see your current votes, click on the "Show MVP status" link in your profile.

There's only 140 votes so far!? If you're interested in participating, please vote now. And don't forget to nominate your "MVP"; the top two candidates will be sponsored for the upcoming review. :D

Another member reminded me that Team HB isn't eligible, so I've removed those votes. Feel free to add more to your list (up to five members). :D

Maybe it would be more visible if pinned at the top of all forum lists or something. Or just keep bumping it .

Though I'd very much like to taste these, I don't feel qualified to vote as many I've never heard of and only a couple have I tasted.

I was thinking of where the FAQs are on each one. I suppose I had missed seeing what you just so nicely highlighted. I had only seen the voting here:

The so-called "global announcements" appear at the top of each forum. The "sticky" topics are for a single forum and they're shown at the top. This thread is an example of the former; but I get it, regulars aren't used to seeing announcements, which is why I'm bumping this yet again.

So, I primarily browse using the "Unread Posts" feature, so I don't see announcements unless there is new post that points me to them. I rarely use the site index or browse the individual forums directly...

Could be that other members browse similarly and don't see this topic as a recurring announcement but rather a topic that didn't pique their interest.

Any way to stick the announcements atop "my posts" and "unread posts"?
