Synthetic coffee that might actually taste good?

I'd try it, but doubt I could switch, I can't think they'd be able to replicate the range of flavors I get with different beans, roasts, brew methods, etc.

Also: The future of coffee?

I thought that to this day we still had no idea about all the compounds in coffee and what was going on when brewing it...
Interesting but if coffee disappears Im going with Orzo

I bet it's just generic coffee flavor though and they don't yet - if they ever can - have a range of profiles to get the different and fascinating flavor notes. And if they did, would it still have value? I can add flavored syrups to my coffee if I want the sweetness and constructed flavor pairings... I don't do that though, I get beans that require craftsmanship to pull out the desired tastes. So I just don't think I'd switch. This is like the equivalent of adding caffeine to your drink of choice - you can do it, but what's the point?
