How long before open bag of beans lose aroma?

Few days a go, opened a bag of Lavazza Gran Crema. Awesome smell. Pulled a cup of espresso. Full of honey note, but the cup wasn't good. Dialed in. Good cup of a double shot. Next day, no smell of the honey. But aftertaste definitely had honey. Couple of days later, it's almost impossible to note the honey at all. The beans are in airtight pop container and I grind them right before pulling the double.

How long does fresh open bag lasts? I know it's few months old since roasted, but really didn't care for local roaster's espresso beans. Illy beans were good, but they are not really interesting. I could drive awhile to next roaster, but I don't really care for an hour round trip.
