None of their coffee pages say anything about the roast level. Any advice? I'd want 5 pounds for large-ish batch pourover.

Dharma is a "medium" roast.

Hi All,

Got in on the deal. Thx for heads up.

Is anyone pulling shots differently than Temples recommendation? 18/36ish normale? Lungo?

Using it in milk based drink, nailed extraction based on their recommendation but seems bit acidic/fruity. I'm at 5500', water boils at 199F do brew boiler is 197F. I could back it off more to see if it pulls less fruit.

Tasting notes are supposed to be chocolate, caramel and spice. Not getting it. Best bean btw for those flavors I've come across is Dragonfly Crema Dolce.

In this thread from last summer, extraction parameters for Dharma are all over the place. Check it out:

I stopped buying from Temple after their two top experts (director of coffee and head roaster) left in May or June 2018, after which the taste changed dramatically.

Anyone try it recently who remembers its distinctive flavor before May 2018?

Yes. Long time Temple worshipper. Some of their brief offerings 2-3 years ago were just magical. Complex with subtle jasmine / cedar notes. Just finished a 5lb bag of Dharma which was never magical but was a reliable performer. Disappointing. Bland. Biting. Sigh.
