I've seen many testimonials and kudos for Caffe Lusso Lionshare. Now I will order a sample bag and see how it tastes & compares to the Paradise Espresso Havana. Caffe Lusso Lionshare has a premium price, I see. Counting shipping cost, a 5 pound bag calculates out to be around $20 a pound.

I'm not too sure about the robusta beans but, hey... I'll try it.

edit: Just ordered a sample 12 oz bag of Lionshare. I should have it by Wednesday or Thursday. I will do a taste comparison with Espresso Havana.

You are looking for a traditional southern Italian blend/roast. Something high in centrals and some Sumatra or Sulawesi would work well. Keep away from African based blends.

What you're looking for is Italian blends. I suggest Limbo Superior, Lavazza Top Class and Lavazza Super Crema. These have plenty of chocolate and average $12 dollars/lb.

For those of you that have drank the coffee recommended here in milk, how do they compare with Counter Culture Cofffee's Big Trouble?

If you order a bag of Lionshare, you should also try Cafe Lusso's Gran Miscela Carmo blend. Its' a low acidity darker roast, too, with cocoa and caramel notes, but it's somewhat brighter than Lionshare (you might pick up some subtle blueberry notes, but that's the extent of the fruit.) Kafatek supplies a bag with their grinders.
As a follow up...

I ordered a 12 oz bag of Lionshare. What I received was a 5 lb bag of Gran Miscela Carmo.
I emailed Cafe Lusso and explained what happened and what should I do with the Gran Miscela Carmo and requested that 12 oz bag of Lionshare.

In total graciousness, I was told to just enjoy the Gran Miscela Carmo and they would ship the Lionshare without delay. That was on Friday. This is Tuesday so It should arrive today or tomorrow. Stuff happens. All is good.

Meanwhile I have near ten pounds of beans in the freezer, what with the Paradise Havana Blend and the Gran Miscela Carmo  !!!

NO KIDDING TOM!! hahahaha!!! oh my word...

The envelope with the shipping paper work included in the box was correct for my 12 oz order. That means, in all likelihood, someone else ordered that 5 pound bag and got my 12 oz order. If that is truly the case, I can just bet they were as surprised as I was, but not in the same way

Got Lionshare here for the first time. Their website suggests 18g in. 20-25 seconds 1.5-2 oz out.

How about temperature?

I vaguely recall 202 at the group being the recommendation. It's what I pull it at.
