Coffee preservation - inert gas?

Curious if anyone here has tried an inert gas for preservation? As oxygen is the enemy, I'm wondering if this would work, in principle the same way that it does with wine (and it does, quite well)...

This is different than nitro flushing - it effectively lays a layer of inert gas on top of the beans, displacing oxygen but creating a sealed layer if I understand it correctly. I'm wondering if this plus something like a friis canister could provide the same effect and get me a few more days on a bag...

Yeah, it works. As already posted has been discussed many times here, perhaps search for "inert gas" or the gas of interest. I've used argon and only went to freezing because of cost.
