Its nice to see such passion, however I do not see a single coffee that is organically grown. For one of the most sprayed crops in the world and he has not sourced anything organic? Why? You can even get Santos and Supremo beans that are organically grown now days, there is no excuse.bachampion wrote:I've tried two dozen or so roasters in Vancouver and surrounding areas, but I'm amazed by Moving Coffee the effort they go to to source beans is crazy. By far the most interesting coffee I've had. Just picked up a coffee subscription and will see how it goes over the next few months.
Cheers, JRM

Just because something isn't certified organic doesn't mean it isn't organically grown...

I have tried a few coffees from https://northern-coffee.ca, and like their beans and service! Easiest place for me to get fresh beans at a reasonable price. I have no clue how they compare to other roasters because i just started my "real" espresso journey 6 months ago, and im breaking in my new grinder.

Does anyone here deal with idrink coffee as far as green beans go? In particular Brazilian?
Free shipping over $39 and a good price on beans is my draw
Thanks
Randy

I've purchased only roasted Brazilian Daterra Yellow from IDC and it pulled a real nice espresso.
Between order and chaos there is espresso.

On to the last few cups of La Maravilla from 49th Parallel. Its quite juicy to start with and the juiciness/acidity turns into a sweet syrupy aftertaste that is quite pleasant. Definitely a good morning cup, but with so many options/choices out there, I don't think it merits me buying it again another year. Got a Rwanda coming in hopefully today or early next week from Rosso that I am looking forward to and will update once I brew it.

I still drink almost exclusively 49th Parallel. They sell 16oz bags for $17 (with subscription discount) and give free shipping over $65. 49th Parallel rotates single origins frequently enough to keep things interesting, and once in a while they come up with something genuinely amazing.
Its impossible for me to justify paying >20$ for a 12oz bag, especially when 49th parallel is setting the bar quite high to begin with.

I hear you. This is why I decided to buy 5lbs bag from different roasters to sample and split with anyone else interested. Not only will it be cheaper buying a 5lb bag vs 12oz, but also free shipping. Have had some nice beans from Bows and Arrows, Drumroaster and 49th Parallel so far.
