Ah ha didn't know that was an option! Who do you pay?cebseb wrote:Why didn't you just make your own shot from the machines in the back? I typically used the gs3 paddle, but I jump to the linea whenever I'm feeling cheeky. I usually just ask for milk to steam myself if I'm up to it. Just make sure you clean and rinse off the counter and cups after you're done!
I think they were setting up for something back there too so might not have been an option.

Thats the funniest part. You don't!
I've spoken to a few of the education ambassadors and they want as many people playing with the machines as possible. They like regular people pulling shots on the machine since that will then spur more onlookers to do the same.

The floor of the convention was a lot of fun. I didn't realize how large it was. I tried a lot of different coffee and espresso but honestly couldn't tell you who was the best. New vacuum based brewing equipment was neat, flavorful but heck of expensive. Funnily enough I really wanted to get the 411 on the Mini but at the cafe they weren't demoing it becuae were setting up for an event and then on the convention floor they didn't have one. So went back to the cafe but of course they were closing and no sales people there. So pulled a shot from the last dregs of the beans in the hopper. Very clumpy and uneven. Didn't taste great but still wasn't terrible. The machine, even with its faux paddle, feels nice to use for some reason. Like a little tank.

That's great to hear that you at least got to try it. You should try to make it to the event. It's going to be a fun time!
I accumulated quite a few photos of a few booths today and was trying to post them but every time I try to upload a photo, I get an exclamation mark symbol that states "error parsing server response"

If you have a lot maybe it would be best to host them on imgur and post the link. Looking forward to what you have to share with us!

You probably have to downsize the photos so that you don't exceed the maximum upload file size.

You can get a Yama stovetop and be in business for less than $60. Grab a Cory glass rod off ebay for $10 and you are good to go.ben8jam wrote:The floor of the convention was a lot of fun. I get the same error message when trying to post a normal roast profile. I get it on Safari, Chrome and my iPhone. There is something going on with the server.cebseb wrote:That's great to hear that you at least got to try it. You should try to make it to the event. It's going to be a fun time!

My apologies for the formatting. I promise I know how to take a photo portrait - wise.
Doug of Orphan Espresso showing off his upcoming product. He states it is 95% completed.
My newest kettle purchase! Brewista artisan in iridescent.
Two new upcoming releases for Rocket. The first is a portable machine that comes complete with a roadie like case. The second is a pressure profiling machine much like the Vesuvius. Note that it uses a Rotary pump and will compete directly with the GS3 in price.
Synesso event.
Conduit roasters event.

For the home barista who has everything, this beatiful, polished 500 mg Acaia calibration weight I snagged at 20% off https://goo.gl/images/YoMKXJ. It's protected by a zipped, padded cylindrical case.
