Minneapolis gathering Thurs (9/14)
- MNate
Just a heads up to any of you in the Minneapolis area who don't want to watch the painful Vikings game, some of us are meeting up at the latte art competition at FRGMNT's Saint Anthony Main Cafe. IF you're bold enough you can even enter the competition yourself - the prizes are really really impressive:

Look for an Oakland A's hat and a faded TC Twins hat.

I got busy and couldn't make it.
If people in Minneapolis wanna try to get together another time, I have received my Argos and people can play with it.

I would definitely like to get together and am intrigued by the Argos. If we get together, could also bring my decent.

I'd also be up for a get together. I have a WUG that should be arriving in November.

Yes, getting together would be great. How shall we make it happen?
Never did give a recap of the last gathering. It was very nice! Four of us on an island amidst the hipster baristas. Nice time chatting, for sure. And I was even talked into throwing my name into the hat to do the competition and I was selected... I really wasn't prepared but had a good time doing it. It was fun just getting behind the counter on that big machine and seeing what it was like. Wow, some of those baristas were not very good... milk flying everywhere! Others, of course, were very good and made it look effortless.
I didn't make it past the first round but we had a nice time talking to the guy who beat me and his co-worker from 190degree Coffee who were down from Duluth for the event.
So here was my latte art- I would have done much better the second round after this practice. Sad for the lack of definition, but oh well. Was fun!

Unfortunately cannot make that date. I would, however, love to host sometime mid November.
I live in Woodbury and have a decent / monolith flat.

Well, I think we should take you up on that! Coffee shops can be good too, but I do think we like showing off our gear, I mean, seeing and trying out other people's gear and playing around with equipment.
If something's still happening I might be able to come by or drop by some equipment for people to play with. I just had a baby last month so my schedule is in flux.
I've had the Odyssey Argos for a couple months and have on loan the Pinecone Pinion grinder.
