What are some "must-visit" cafes in Midtown close to Grand Central? Near the MET? Union Square? Mostly looking for incredible espresso. Will visit specific neighborhood joints if worth it.

Thanks

Little Collins is in midtown. Ninth Street Espresso in Alphabet City or Chelsea Market. Third Rail in Greenwich Village. Everyman Espresso is near Union Square. Joe has solid shops. I think Grumpy's has shops in Manhattan now. They were only in Greenpoint/Williamsburg when I was living up there.

Stumptown at Ace Hotel is near midtown. Blue Bottle in Grand Central or Chelsea or Williamsburg.

That's just off the top of my head. I also haven't lived in NYC in almost 5 years, so some of these might be dated and there's probably a lot more great new shops.

There's prolly a dozen plus threads on this topic and three dozen more solid shops than what I mentioned here. I'd use the search if you want more recommendations. There's also a couple of apps you can download.

Grumpys at Grand Central turned out to be close and convenient and decent for early morning.
