XBloom all-in-one coffee brewer (Kickstarter) - Page 10
That makes good sense. The XBloom would be lost on my wife, she enjoys hers with lots of cream and sugar no matter the quality.Jeff wrote:Fear-free coffee on demand for the other coffee drinker in the house. "It just works" based on playing with one of the late prototypes in person.
I don't visit this site too often since I sold my espresso machine, but came here a few days ago specifically looking to find a machine like this. I couldn't believe it when I saw this: pretty much exactly what I was looking for.
So I went a watched all the videos and browsed the site and subscribed to this thread to see what the first users reported, since units are shipping now-ish apparently. The real clincher was the reusable pod that Lance Hedrick mentioned as being the defining factor in deciding to consult on the project. Since it wasn't shown in his video, and I saw no sign of it on the site, I just emailed them to check.
They replied, "At this time, we do not have plans to offer another reusable dripper for purchase but your request has been forwarded to our Product department."
Which is strangely worded, "another" implying in addition to the one that already exists, but I take it to mean this has been scrapped, so it's subscription only. I suppose someone could make an aftermarket or 3D-printed pod, since Melitta 155 filters were supposed to fit, but there's a chance the machine won't run without scanning the pod code in. This sucks. I wonder what Lance Hedrick thinks.

The kickstarter backer package was said to include a reusable pod.

Oh yeah, there it is on the Kickstarter page! In detail, with pictures. Well now I'm even more confused. Surely that's not only for Kickstarter backers, right?

The reusable dripper I'm sure has not been scrapped. All Kickstarter backers are receiving them. Perhaps it is simply just not for sale yet as they are working on shipping all units to KS backers first, and possibly making minor changes to its design. The xBloom is an open system with the ability to use its grinder in a stand-alone fashion along with a reusable dripper. My unit should be arriving in a few days.

Ok great. Look forward to hearing what you think of it. I've emailed them back to clarify as well.
EDIT: They confirmed; reusable dripper for Kickstarter backers only. "If a dripper is available for purchase at a later time, it will be listed on our site"

I'm not sure that the dripper is not being offered to new purchasers of the XBloom.
It is not difficult to email XBloom to receive a response.
Anyway there are a few present owners designing 3D improved concepts of the dripper and a negotiator that helps keep the dripper Kalita filter paper installed correctly.
XBloom has the ability of using a pod RFID tag and let you design a new recipe in the XBloom App.
Your not restricted in your ability to change at will any coffee recipe of any XBloom coffee pod.

I checked with "Brain Quan" And have been informed that all New customers will have the opportunity to purchase the reusable Dripper as an add on to the XBloom purchase.
And additional, I am 'assuming' all present owners will also have the opportunity to purchase any new designs concepts offered of the reusable Dripper.
Let's all understand this is a fledgling company and as it grows there will be inevitably an increasing numbers of additional accessories to assist and provide customer satisfaction. -Patience-
