And additional, I am 'assuming' all present owners will also have the opportunity to purchase any new designs concepts offered of the reusable Dripper.
Let's all understand this is a fledgling company and as it grows there will be inevitably an increasing numbers of additional accessories to assist and provide customer satisfaction. -Patience-

Nice! I just wanted to check in case it meant the difference between being locked into pod subscriptions or not. This product looks great, for me at least. I missed the Kickstarter so will now wait for early user reports, but if all is well I'll definitely be ordering one.

Regarding new user reports: So far, there have been some minor hiccups but these have all been satisfactory answered or quickly rectified with the help of XBloom staff communication.
I'm sure over the next few weeks there will be more information and results from reviews that will become available from the new owners of the XBloom. The first few have discussed their initial impressions and were primarily excellent.

Yet, it will take the support of many of them to share and to build up the confidence in using this unique coffee technology.
And developing new coffee recipes to share with all.

The XBloom's continuing "daily" support to the new owners of their XBloom technology, software, App and the new coffee pods.
Have been invaluable in helping in using this developing technology.
And are now producing some incredible coffee flavors for their owners as a result.

I can't see from my personal prospective at this juncture that now will prevent XBloom from developing an excellent group
of reviews and following.

Have any backers in Canada received their machine yet? I just received mine (backer 144) and was slapped with almost 200 CAD of import duties and taxes, when xBloom said there would be no such thing for US & Canada. I just contacted them on Discord and they seem to be looking into it.

That sucks. How's the coffee though?

Haven't even opened the box yet haha, I wanna make sure I get my money back for the fees first. Too frustrated to think about the coffee lol ... 200 CAD on ~550 CAD pledge is no jokes.

What's the breakdown on the brokerage bill? The numbers don't make sense to me - well, maybe if an AMP was assessed. (AMP = administrative monetary penalty https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/trade-comme ... u-eng.html )

It is 66.25$ customs duties + 40.14$ GST + 80.07 PST (Quebec) + 10$ ROD fee + 1.50 (GST + PST on the ROD fee).

So it looks like the XBloom had a declared value of about $735CAD/$535USD, not $550CAD.
- value for duty includes shipping cost;
- coffeemakers are 9% duty if made in ROC IIRC (I'm going from memory, I'm can't look it up atm);
- duty and excise are added in before PST/GST are calculated.

If the declared value is incorrect, then there are forms on the CBSA site to ask for a refund.

Someone has to pay duties, excise, and taxes - if you thought that it was XBloom that was going to do that, then contact them. Regardless, in Canada, you (the importer) is ultimately responsible for paying.

(The USA has a de minimis value of $800USD, so Americans won't have to pay duty on their XBlooms or whatever less than $800USD. The Canadian value is $20CAD. We pay :wink:.)

That's terrible situation, regarding the excessive duty that is required towards a small business transaction in Canada.
I hope with XBloom can support a reevaluation of a lower cost basis that might help in this situation. Such as $395.00.

It seems to be: The final shipments of the rest of the XBloom coffee machines should be shipped in April.
The 32 coffee pods, glass carafe and the Dripper will be shipped in a separate package in a similar timeframe.

They asked me for pictures of the Fedex receipt "for reimbursement" but I would believe it once I see the money back in my account. Their CEO seems to be at a loss as to why I was charged - he says they are investigating with Fedex China so let's see how that turns out.
