It's worth starting a discussion over. I haven't bought a brewing device in probably 5 or 6 years. but I just ordered this.

It looks promising. Blooming with the valve closed will allow you to Wet-WDT and control the bloom time. Also the option of doing immersion vs percolation will allow you to brew two very different cups of coffee. For example you can probably skip the bloom and steep the whole brew a long time to get something similar tasting to a cupping. Not sure how to go about the percolation part yet though, specifically around grind size. Appreciate any suggestions.

I ordered one as well- I appreciate Gagne's work and I'm excited to see a brewer influenced by his research. Also, Lance Hedrick achieved a 2.2% TDS brew that apparently tasted good with a Hario Switch + Tricolate combination, similar in concept to the Pulsar.

If you're looking for a recipe that is purely percolation, then you may want to investigate recipes for the Tricolate or the Lvl-10, as those drippers look basically identical to the Pulsar but without a valve. If you're looking for combo immersion + percolation recipes, my guess is that the ones provided by NextLevel are a good place to start.

The initial units allotted to Scott Rao sold out very fast. They'll get more next week apparently. I'm looking forward to playing with it.

Got mine today, haven't had a chance to use it yet. First impression, it seems well built and has a pretty large capacity. Been using a steel Kalita Wave 185 for about 10 years, hacked with bigger holes, so this will be fun to play with.

Mine came too, I made three brews today. The first one was the standard recipe, but it still needs dialed in- it seems like I can grind finer than I would for my V60 workflow. But it was still tasty and seems like it will be easily repeatable.

The other two were made according to included double immersion suggestion (similar to Lance Hedrick's experiment above). The first was a Kenyan from Passenger Coffee for 5 minutes per immersion, the second was a honey-processed Burundi, also from Passenger, immersed for 10 minutes each. Both brews were delicious- full-flavored with no unpleasant flavors. I am impressed with this brewer and look forward to experimenting with it.

I received mine today and did 2 standard recipes with coffees from Sey. Both were quite enjoyable with more body than V60. I also think I can go finer.

I'll try Lance's recipe tomorrow. It is easier to use than I expected and is significantly better than my Tricolate experience.

Two brews on mine this morning. First one was a spectacular cup from Prodigal's Kenya PB. I ground that batch on my R120 and got a very slow almost stuck brew and I needed to fill the entire chamber just to get the flow going towards the end, and it was still a gorgeous cup.

Second brew I ground on my Titus and it didn't stick at all. All in all it was a bit over 5 minute brew for the second batch, which was a home roast of the Kenya Chinga from SM that I didn't do a good job on at all (on the roast) and I realized with the Titus, I can definitely grind a lot finer.

I have been very happy with my Stagg X brews lately, but they come with a lot of bypass because I'm using unfolded Kalita Wave filters.

This brewer piqued my interest and I put an order in. I will report back with comparison brews (20g each) using 1/2 recipe Third Wave Water.
