Hey! I am very curious about this dripper. I would love if someone who uses the clever could let me know how it compares, especially in terms of using it as a full immersion brewer? I use the clever for 99% of my brews and find that it is not only the most consistent brewer, but the tastiest brewer for me. My favorite brews come from a batch brewer, and I find the coffees that come from the clever are very similar. I'm wondering if it's a worthy upgrade as a daily driver and would appreciate any guidance!

I had thin hope that I might get lucky and find that my NLP would fit under my MoccaMaster at work, but alas, it does not. That would have been pretty cool and hands off.

The bracket that holds the Moccamaster cone isn't removable.

Been using mine for almost 2 weeks now. Doses between 12 grams up to 30 grams, using Gagne's recipe, have been amazing. Medium/fine grind (4 on an Ode Gen2) I've found I'm using smaller doses, but getting better results than my old Kalita Wave that I had dialed in rally well after 10 years of use. I've tried Lance's percolative immersion recipe a couple of times, but the resulting cups were really strong and I had to water them down. It's really not worth it to me, for the extra time it takes, and the fact that the Gangne recipe is so simple and delicious. Overall very happy with this purchase.

Which Moccamaster? I was able to remove mine to create this automated monstrosity.

Back to the NLP. I brought a hand grinder I haven't used in 4 years with me on a vacation today, but had it set too fine. Still a good cup but over extracted. Tomorrow should yield a better cup (using Prodigals' newest Kenyan coffees).

Another cool feature, if you grind too coarse, you can slow down the flow with the valve. I'm really digging this thing!

Has anybody else had a problem with an off, rubbery taste? The first few brews I had were amazing, but lately there's been a taste I haven't been able to get rid of.

Edit: I feel bad about this comment now, because I don't want anybody to think this product has a flaw that isn't true. The taste I interpreted as rubbery is in fact the built up coffee oils, which Gagne mentions in his article to take care in wiping off. Maybe there's a rubbery taste imparted to those oils from sitting there long-term, its hard to say; but after scrubbing the base with dish soap, the odor is completely gone.

I'm happy to see that it fits under my Ratio 8 Brewer, as long as I don't use the top piece.
