I don't think he info from Hario and the linked article contradict each other. The Hario Air is made of PCT resin which is BPA-free.

PCT stands for Polycyclohexylenedimethyleneterephthalate...which is why I mentioned it in my first post on this thread...

I don't know. Just because "phthalate" appear in the name, doesn't mean PCT resin is not safe to use. I couldn't find any research that claims it's not food safe (as it is claimed to be), or that it leaches chemicals when used in the microwave (Hario says it doesn't), or even that phthalates in general all behave the same way and are harmful. This article is worth reading.
