Has anybody been able to source a 53mm dosing cup or find a different solution for a 53mm portafilter?

The LWW blind tumbler (not shaker) has a stepped bottom ring and will fit both a 50mm and 58mm basket. Should work for 53mm, as well.

I actually use the Niche with an Olympia Cremina (49mm) so had similar things to figure out.

I started by using the OE funnel and then doing a flip, starting with the Niche cup set under the funnel-to-basket. Hope that's making sense.

What I do now (and like much better) is actually grinding from the Niche directly into the Blind Tumbler from Lyn Weber. That sits on myriad range of portafilters comfortably. I use the Niche cup only to weight the whole beans before grinding now.

(I hope I'm not too late with my post.)
My NZ is ordered but not yet delivered and I consider to by a La Spaziale so I am also interested in finding a fitting dosing cup.

Did anyone try the Motta Sugar shaker/832 or the Chocolate shaker/380? According to the data I can find the diameter should be 5.5 cm. If the cap is removed that could give a perfect 53 mm diameter dosing cup.

Ebay and Amazon sell 53mm dosing rings. Orphan espresso has a 53mm dosing funnel. I don't want to recommend or link to anything in particular; but searching on "53mm dosing ring espresso" will get you the various the items you want.

Ah, yes, thanks. I read there were some funnels around; just thought it would be great to have a dosing cup that fits without one.

I've been searching for the same thing... Found a seller on Etsy who makes makes 3D printed custom funnels dosing ring adapters. It seems he can even mate a specific grinder to an individual portafilter. He's already designed one that mates a Niche Zero to 54mm Breville. I contacted him in regards to a 53mm funnel since the entire line of machines from La Spaziale from their 1 group prosumer units all the way up to their huge 4 group commercial machines all utilize 53mm portafilters. Just navigate over to Etsy.com and search on his store name: Rads3DPrintedParts to see some of his espresso accessories.
Krups, then Silvia, then Livia 90, then a Techno! Does it ever end? [sigh]

Orphan Espresso has 53.5mm dosing funnels. I am using an Ipanema with IMS baskets on my Vivaldi. The ID looks to be 58mm. I seem to recall reading that the NZ cup fits but I won't be able to verify it works until my grinder arrives next month.

They also sell a low profile funnel that might have a wider max opening but I don't have one of them to verify.

The one annoyance is that the funnel sits inside the basket so leaves a slight void that needs to be dealt with.

Hello Chris and welcome to HB. I would mention that if you use a dosing funnel (HIGHLY recommended), you can WDT (stir the grounds) easily without making a mess. Also, you don't need a 53 mm cup for the Niche. I just hold the 58 mm cup over the funnel and tap it with your finger. It comes clean with no mess. Then I can WDT in the funnel directly.

So, spend your money on a nice funnel (the nicest are the ones that go outside the PF basket and not inside).

I have tried using the cup directly on the basket, but it's always fairly messy. I'm sure others disagree, but they're probably more OCD :)
