It's a non issue. Especially if you don't have the two next to each other. It felt a bit weird to me that the paddle has such a short throw, but tha's because I have years of muscle memory on the LMLM. I'd adjust very quickly. The knobs are a bit smaller, but would also be fine.AidanC wrote:With the smaller footprint of the Micra it seems a little more cramped with the paddle and knobs closer together. I wonder how this works out blurry eyed in the morning. I'm sure you would get used it or it's a non issue in real life.
The water spot on the Micra doesn't move fore/aft like the one on the LMLM, but to be honest I never needed to move mine except to put it back perfectly plumb if I moved it accidentally. So it's a feature! And with the water spout delivering such hot water, I really only use it to prewarm cups to a higher temp than what the top cup warmer does. YMMV.

I had to flip all my cups rightside up when I moved to GS3 from LMLM, the cups were too damn hot.Frenchman wrote:And with the water spout delivering such hot water, I really only use it to prewarm cups to a higher temp than what the top cup warmer does. YMMV.

Is there actually end of that road, next they want to put it out of sight with a salad mixer, and then working with a battery.Frenchman wrote:Just because there is room doesn't mean you have to take it all. Space is nice and relaxing, and not everybody wants a big chunk of metal to take the attention and space. My Mini goes to the edge of my countertop and I wouldn't mind if it were smaller for sure.
But yes, countertop space could really be a thing, it is not rare to see photos people having their coffee-machine in living-room as there is no space in kitchen. One reason we do not have microwave-oven, rice-cooker, egg-cooker, food-prosessor, electric water-boiler, raclette-grill, etc gimmicks. Just pizza-oven and coffee-machine, and a jungle of chili-plants occasionally

There's already a battery operated 64 mm flat grinder...
My Mini is indeed basically in my dining room, even of technically on a shared countertop with the kitchen. I had installed a 20A circuit with locations both there and closer to the sink. But the sink side has cabinets 18" off the countertop, and that's the height of my Illy cappuccino cups on top of the Mini. It would be extremely cramped there. If my Mini were a Micra it would be totally fine there.
I do appreciate that making breakfast involves a lot of walking back and forth, though. It's good for me!

Can one of the reviewers measure the length of the steam wand past the last elbow? I think that will help people worried that it's too short for the milk jug size they want to use.

When you use their stock milk jug with the tip following the spout the tip just barely clear the milk a little below the V so if you wanted to dip deeper it would require tilting the jug more. It's not restrictive by any means but if you're used to a longer tip this will definitely have you cursing the first few times. That said I had no issues steaming three times and got decent foam with both oat and whole milk. If I had to guess I'd say the wand from the loop down it's about 3"

I emailed La Marzocco this morning asking more or less the same question. If I get a reply, I will share here.Frenchman wrote:Can one of the reviewers measure the length of the steam wand past the last elbow? I'm hoping that one of the reviewers will evaluate the steam wand capability for different pitcher sizes and different drink sizes.
Hopefully there won't be any limitations. If it will limit me to 6 oz milk drinks, my wife will veto the purchase. She really likes her 10 oz latte/cappuccino.

Here you go:Frenchman wrote:Can one of the reviewers measure the length of the steam wand past the last elbow?
The angle of the camera may not be perfectly aligned with the ruler, but it gives you an idea of the wand length. Eyeballing it directly, it looks like 2-7/8" from the tip holes to the elbow bend.
If you have a pitcher size in mind, I'll give it a try.Mike-R wrote:I'm hoping that one of the reviewers will evaluate the steam wand capability for different pitcher sizes and different drink sizes.

I hope it at least works with the pitcher included with the machine
