My 2 cents here - I bought a monolith flat, with the idea that it could be one of only a few grinders to do a good job with both filter and espresso. It's actually fantastic for espresso, and really good for filter. I ended up getting another grinder though, because we go through periods of drinking a lot of dark roasted espresso. Even with minimal retention, the cleaning and purging required to have a light roasted filter brew in the afternoon, after an Italian style cappuccino in the morning, really got to me after a while. This wasn't an issue drinking modern-style medium roast espresso.
